Mother's Day

Here are some images to honor my mother this upcoming weekend - for Mother's Day. I love her visits!

She is so much fun to be around. She's funny, inquisitive, and caring. She's old school in all the right ways and in some ways that make me crack up. "They talk about those wet dreams, like, ya know?", for instance.

The babies you see are my sister and her baby, Ella. She's the best, sweetest little bug! We do eskimo kisses and she loves it. I think. I love it! My sister is a wonderful new mom! Good job, Lora-bagora!

Cheers to the girls! Love you! xo

Happy Mother's Day to all the awesome moms who always make sacrifices to go the extra mile for we kids despite our funky attitudes at times.

My Espresso In Its Native Habitat

My Espresso in its Native Habitat (MENH) is an ongoing project where I photograph espressos either I make myself or those that are among the most delightful I've had. I only include objects that are in the near vicinity at that moment. Similar to my photographic acumen, I focus on natural happenings.

Why do I do this? Because I love coffee tawk. I value a right-on barista and really perfect espresso. I cherish the ritual of making espresso, enjoying time, and being in the moment.

I shot these images with my iPhone and a few with my iPad. I have shot film for many years and not until recently did I get a smartphone and truly appreciate the beauty of iPhone convenience and quality.

You can keep up with this project (#menh) on tumblr or instagram.

Documentary Photography Comes Easily in Austin

Anywhere, really. Because that's what I do visually and mentally day in and day out - document. We all do I suppose but we do different things with what we interpret. Anyway, here are a few spots I usually hit up and always find something visually awesome & mentally stimulating - La Boîte, Ruta Maya, Progress. 3 awesome local coffee spots with rich espresso & yummy grub.

SXSW, Over a Month Later

I really laid low this year and don't feel like I missed a thing. Went to a few shows Mike committed to playing months before he threw his back out and enjoyed hanging out with some of my favorite people around. Check out how carazy things got.
