The Perfect Horror Film Set in Lovely Burnet, TX

In my blog on travel, I mentioned my love of horror films and said I'd post a video.

It's a long shot, but some of you may remember an email I sent out a while back. On or around July 24, 2009, actually. If you knew me then, I'll refresh your memory; if not, the story's the same.

May, two years ago -- We went to Lake Buchanan out in Burnet for my birthday. It was such a great time. Very quiet, very country, very uneventful and small town. Not knowing much about Burnet, I should say those were the characteristics of the town at that particular time and place. Maybe it's different around other corners or when seasonal events bring out the locals and tourists. I was thrilled to just be in the moment, appreciate the vibe, and enjoy nature.

As far back as I can remember, I've always loved traveling and I've always loved hotels. My earliest memories of traveling are when we lived in Detroit and would take road trips to visit our family in Cleveland. While my sister and I were sleeping my parents would pack us up in the car in the middle of the night and hit the road. My mom said this made things a little easier with toddlers and the quiet of the night. Plus, my mom was a night owl until pretty recently and used to do everything at night - clean, move furniture, go to the grocery store, and whatever else. I was a night owl through college, of course, and for many years afterwards -- and did the same things my mom did, just add alcohol.
